old shape astra gsi, 2 phases which one is better and when was the last one made. also personal opinions on them?

Phase 1 - C/20XE, 150bhp, different headlights and grille from Ph2, different boot spolier from Ph2.

Phase 2 - 130bhp, X20XEV I think (Ecotec anyway)

That's off the top of my head, Phase 1's the one to go for tbf though.

yup was thinking the phase 1 myself not to kean on the ecotec. Handling puts me of them tho or can they handle ok with a few upgrades?

The early ones were 1.8 ecotec i beleive

I think I'm right in saying you can't fit any sort of coilovers to them without a bit of fucking about - I remember a mate with a mk3 LET saying you need to send your shockers away on a P/X basis, and that's just for fronts.

i had a ph2 2.0 ecospaz it was a rite shed electronically - had all sorts of problems, leaks everywhere and stuff maybe i just got a bad one but when it worked it was areet

it had

jan speed 4-2-1 + full cat back
super chip
panel filter

rolling roaded at 160bhp + 179ft lb torque. v6's drop rite in the astra bay though they go well

Both phases of Gsi had the same headlights and grille.Just some of the P1 Xe's had washers on the grille.

Aye actually, think you're right. Ph2 non GSi's had different headlights and grilles though - I know this because I got a Ph1 headlight for my Ph2 1.6 mk3 like a right fanny.

phase 2 didnt come with the well known bonnet vents ethier as i just had to buy a phase 1 bonnet for mine,
i have the 2.0 eco shit engine,
with dblias itb's, inlet manifold, high lift cames etc, seems allright nothing major mind you but dose what it says on the tin for me
