Can't decide whether its clever or a bit blag. Take the piano for example, the hand clap is the trigger but there's not enough combinations in two pads to do every pattern.

It looks pretty cool, but nothing technologically advanced - from looking at the video, i would say that the conductive paint (can purchase it from maplin's etc) is used to complete a circuit between the pads, ie: you have a neg pad and pos pad and the person acts as link. The pads are then connected to an ADC and converted (probably using MaxMsp or a custom embedded processor, PIC etc) to midi data for the samplers/sequencer.
Although i'm not overally convinced that the final performance is real, looks a little dubbed.
