So imagine my delight when this lovely example came up for sale -
It's a 2002, up for £2100, which is cheap. So I checked the book price, 7 grand.
So having nothing to lose I mailed him anyway. Just got the reply -
Hi,
The caravan is still for sale if you are interested to buy now. It is in perfect condition and come with full paperwork. The total price for it is £2.100 and I paid all shipping taxes because now I am not in UK and I left it in the custody at the shipping company. I only must to call at the shipping company, to give them the name and adress where the caravan must to be shipped and in 2 days will be at your address. You have all the pictures in attach.
I wait your email back if you want to buy it now.
Thank you,

Hi,
I have many buyers interested and I can not risk to stay with it not sold at
a price so good. Even if you are a serious buyer and want to buy it now I
will sell you but for this you will must to put the money £2.100 through
MoneyGram on your friend name in UK not directly on my name because the
problem is than now I am in Italy because I have some family problems. When
the payment is made you will send me the scanned receipt from MoneyGram for
my trust that you are a serious buyer and have all the money to buy the
caravan now. When I see the scanned receipt imediatly I will call at the
shipping company and in 2 days the caravan will be at your home adress and
will have free time 5 days to inspect and test it. After 5 days in which you
can decide if it remain at you, will go again at MoneyGram office and will
transfer the money on my name or if is any problems you take your money
back. The caravan is registred in UK on my name and I left all documents
at the shipping company. You trust in me the caravan has no problem is as
you see it in the pictures, I am a serious seller and if you do not like it
or is a problem you will return it.
I wait your email back if you are agree, because I have other buyers who
want my caravan.
Thank you,

Hi Ian,
Ok you will pay maximum £100 the taxes for the money transfer and you will
put £2.000 for the caravan. You will go at MoneyGram office with £2.100 cash
and put the money on your friend name or wife name. After when the payment
is made you will send me the scanned receipt from MoneyGram to view that you
are a seriouse buyer (that you have all money and sure want to buy my
caravan) and you will leave the money there until you decide whether to keep
the caravan. After I see that you make the money and all is Ok I will call
at the shipping company and in 2 days the caravan will be at your home
adress. This is the best deal for both you will receive first the caravan
and after 5 days in which you can decide if the caravan remain at you, you
will go again at MoneyGram office and will transfer the money on my name.
Thanks again and I wait your email back,
Matt

How can you double scam him though?
Have you read that huge post about the guy who sent loads of duff IT kit out to a scammer. Ended up the scammer had to pay to collect all the kit, only to find it was junk.
They properly scammed the scammer, but it took a few months, and lots of "online" death threats
Highly comical, wish I had the link still.
