basically as some people may know my car is in project section, its bin off the road for 2 years and worked perfectly when i took it off the road.
since it was not started for about a year on the key i just assumed it was somat simple like starter motor or immobiliser etc etc
basically little while ago i tried to start it and its dead on the key just hear 1 click on passenger side footwell..... so i banged the starter with mallet and tried again and the starter made a semi-loud clunk so i assume its something like this...
im awaiting a new starter motor from lee mitchell, BUT all the electrics have gone mad since if you try opening the door the central locking solenoids go mad making funny noises and if you light up the dials all the lights like eml/oil/etc etc fade and come back up then fade again lol if you wait few seconds it all settles down and everything works, central locking does what it should, electric windows work and all dash lights just stay lit.
basically what makes the electrics go mad? as im convinced starter wont cure this problem but maybe it will lol
any help appreciated carl

no earths have been removed and yeah battery has been off for whole time, im sure it not battery related as tried battery off my astra gsi and did same thing.....
suppose if starter dont cure it, have to start checking earths and stripping for damage to electrics, much fun coming my way me thinks lol

could be but car runs fine when its bump started..........
elctrics have only gone mad since i bashed the starter with soft mallet and it clunked, sincer then it has no starter motor on it at present but the elctrics go mad even just operating central locking with the key solenoids go stiff and make funny noises

what have you done with the starter motor wires. you need too insulate the wires properly if they are not connected.
