hi, was planing a new car and realy like the mk4 astra gsi turbo. has any had/got one and is there anything to watch for! any pics of them standardish!

standardish, seen one with vxr wheels, morettes and other bits! always loved the mk3 but gf likes the mk4! are the mk4s easy tuned etc

I have around 260bhp pretty easy to get around that figure. but not exactly cheap.

grantown on spey! theres one on pistonheads for 5.8k, advert reads;
here is my astra gsi turbo, i am a member of "astra owners club" and this car has had my life thrown at it so far, i do want to go further but i best stop somewhere while i still have a wife i clean this car so much my neighbours think its all i do! i have machine polished it, clayed it, polish and waxed it. i change the oil every 3.5k without fail, once it got to 4k before i did it (winter) the turbo is still strong, the car does not smoke at all, such an improvement over the old vaux turbo engine. this car has never let me down. turbo cars you expect them too. if i am honest i will be very sad to see it go. but hgv licence cost 2k and i am sick off factory work! now you can search for a standard one of these but let me tell you, to get it to this stage cost 2-2.5k! exhaust £1200, fmic £300-£600, remap £600! to up power to 300bhp on this one just needs vxr turbo unit £400, vxr injectors £80 and another remap. the exhaust is made by blueflame (very good quality/ sound) well you either want this car or you dont. i have listed as much as i can think of?

*mini chubb car fire extinguisher (you never know?)
timing belt changed at 38k (not due til 80k now)
full history up til courtenays remap in 2007. after this i never had it serviced because plugs are good for 40k! but i have replaced them a month ago anyway. pollen filter i did start of year, gear box oil changed last year, fuel filter changed. every oil change i have fitted new long life oil filter. i have done this myself as it cost me £15 vaux trade price or £120 for a vaux garage to do it for me?? reciepts for all oil bought.
i have set a price, but if there is a 2003-2004 172/cup? and 2k put to me we could have a deal

If so it has over £6k of outstanding finance, and has never been mapped,
Will run for a few hundred yards then cut out.
I bought my Irmcher grill off they guy that has it.

Sounds like a good spec.
But tbh the most enjoyment I;ve got out of mine is by doing all that work to mine myself.
I'd say find a good clean standard one and make your own mark on it.

yeah that was the plan but at that price i thought it was good! id get the vxr turbo etc! wot you got done to yours! never seen it about i inverness!

Sold the snowflakes to a mate over a year back, got some tsw pace 17's for winter useage and the masitaly vt7's for other times
Not sure on price yet, gonna get the other parts fitted and see how I get on with it, might end up doing the garrett eventually over the winter but then again I just don;t know....
