A liaison officer comes to your door at 2am to tell a parent her son has died, only to realise he's still alive, and his car was stolen and the chap who nicked it was dead.

Ah I left before the end of the story, that's quite shocking though. I did think they were a bit lax on what evidence they had to prove he was who he was.
