my astra gsi ph1 C20LET

i have decided to make a project thread on my astra , i got the car about 3 months ago from lescester off somebody off here , it had bean off the road for about 2 years , i taxd and motd it and put it on the road but a week later the oil pump went so engine has had to come out , i have now taken the engine out and stripped it down and givin the engine to john boy to rebuild it for me with steel rods and arps ,commetec head gasget, new shells , new waterpump and cambelt kit , 8 valve sump gasget , arp head studs ,new piston rings ,theres proberley more but i cant rember , i also have had the block rehonde and skimd and had the head skimd , the car has got a new stainless steel 3 inch exhaust system with de cat, cav turbo wheels , cav turbo breaks , 160mph clocks and cav turbo steering wheel , i have also just brought a phase 3.5 ecu with a 5 stage power controller ,

That'll look brilliant when it's fixed up, turbo wheels are cool as fuck on these. Were the arches being rust repaired?

yes mate , engine should be done in a week , just need to get bigger intercooler and boost pipes and some vxr injectors and a few more bits ,

bit of a up date , 2 small cracks have been found in the head so i have got a xe head and the xe cams will be getin used aswell

why not get the head welded insted of having to bin something that can be repaired?

i was going to get hellied but not worth the hassel , it cost me 70 quid for another head , and the cams will add about another 20 bhp , so its worth it
