Twoel trick is only temporary Tom.
Ring Microsoft and they'll arrange collection. Sent mine off on the 19th and it's waiting for me at home now

Do not do the towel trick, it will fry the gpu. Either send it to ms or if its out of warrenty just stick some arctic 5 thermal paste under the heatsinks works as good as new (done a few including my second 360 which has been running over 12 months since)

Well my ps3 had the "yellow light od eath" the same as the xbox 3 lights, look on youtube for a fix with a heatgun, o used it on my ps3 as i was out of wrranty anyway, got my pcs3 fixed but had ripped the bluray drive cable by mistake

So just got a used one for £130 with 2 controllers and sold my parts for £120!

Wrap it in a towel and swing it round your head like a David and Goliath style catapult...then, smash it into the nearest hard object. Should work fine after this, but as other have already stated....its only a temp fix.
