I got a new head unit today and it went in fine but after i came home and tried to turn my car on again it wasnt working, there is power as it is still taking and ejecting cd's but no life other than that. i tried my old head aswell and it was just doing the same. i cannot see anything wrong and dont have a clue

hmm mine did this but i dunno how im going to explain it lol. . . you get live energy power witch is constant and then the power that u turn on wen u switch your headunit on.. but mine did the same as yours (must be dodgys wiring or standard dodgy wiring) ..so i just cut one of the wires and ran it through the same wire that was bringing this constand power and now i just have to take the frnt headunit panel off to compleely turn it off otherwise its always on standy . .. . sorry i dont know how to explain it that was a load of crap lol but isnt a big problem a car audio place would sort it easy enough.

i had a feeling it would be something along those lines. i also need to change wires around to sort the memory problem

ye people must have butchered mine cant be standard like mine was lol... mines the new sony xplod headunit... but pretty sure its the wiring rather than headunit. what headunit you got?

ah dear tht puts a spanner in the works, i wonder if its headunit :S . headunit might need two lots or power or summat but our older motors dont have :S i dunno just brainstorming haha. Thats how i got mine working though.

nah i cant remember at all sorry. i fiddled about trial and error putting wire to port and seeing if i got standby light and witch ones i didnt and then just came to a conclusion like that and put it all through same wire sort of thing. sure it would be a doddle for a car audio person and shudnt cost a lot if u just show him it lol. yea best headunit ive had.
