i managed to break something 2day but not too sure what its called. It sounds like its somthing to do with air?? also makes the car run very lumpy on idle? could someone tell me what it is?

Is it the fuel tank valve thing that bolts to the inlet manifold? I can't make out much in the pics.

ye pics dont really help much, just show the red plug that goes onto it. It has a piece of silicone rubber tubing goin into it. It sounds like its blowing/sucking air. Not sure if this helps. Il have to get better pics if needed.

I just tried getting a pic of mine but the battery is dead in my camera
My engine is the distributor type so may be slightly different, Where you have the arrow pointing is the fuel tank vent vale.
One small pipe comes from the carbon canistor in the O/S wing into the valve, The other pipe goes into the throttle body.

just block the vacum off on it and will be fine

ye thats what i thought it was some sort of vaccum. Do u know its proper name so i can buy a replacement. If its to much ££ to buy il just block it off. thanks

fuel tank vent valve. block the pipe going towards to back of the car off and leave the one coming from the inlet plugged onto it still.

the one coming from the inlet is the one that is broke . That means il have to get a replacement. Wheres the best place to get one from?? how much roughly are they.

sealant or something over it? best off finding somebody breaking an xe as they should only really want a fiver or so.
