Ours is a house cat anyway, so stays in, has the litter tray.
Get a shed and cat flap or something?

When i was at my parents, they would stay in every night, had their own room at night with a litter tray in and every since kittens thats what they were trained. Never had an issue in...10/11 years (except from when the oldest was dying )

we have a cat flap, she can either spend her night in the office (where the cat flap leads) or outside, but if i leave my window open she will get on next door neighbours garage roof, jump across to the conservatory, in through my window and sleep on my chair

The missus' cats are definately day time cats; they go out between 8am and 6pm; even if the cat flap was open they wouldn't go out at night

I have 3 cats and they are spot on for going out however there is a litter tray inside for them just in case.
Only problem I have is with one of them if you leave a towel on the floor - guaranteed he will piss on it.

our cats are out during the day, and out for about 5 hours after feeding, we let them in around 11pm ish.
But one of them likes to leave a present each morning on the kitchen floor.
Today is was mostly running and I thought enough is enough.
Litter trays are a PITA though, having to clean that up

let mine out or in as and when, at night, if she does'nt come when called she stays out all night
used to shit loads in the litter tray but now does it mostly outside these days
(which is good becasue i hate emptying the litter tray as cat shit is one of earths most foul smells)

Mine stays in. I have a room with litter try in etc... she sleeps during the day in one of the spare rooms on the bed. Then she will wake up around 5 (When we're home from work) and want to go out.... she'll be out then untill something scares her - she only sits in the garden very rarely goes elsewhere so its easy to get her in again

i have 2 and my girlfriend just moved in with her 2 as well. (too many for a small house really).
The cat flap is never locked so they come and go when they like. Normally in for breakfast at 7 and gone again by 9.
They come back in when we get home 5.30ish, and go again soon after 2nd feeding.
They come back normally at 9pm or so if we're sat watching tv, and hang about for a few hours.
One definately stays out all night. One definately stays in all night. The other 2 mix and match.
One of the g/f's occasionally pisses in the bath. It's annoying, but a better place for it than many others!
