Some of the American ones look a bit like pitbulls...
Do you have many problems with your bulldog Dan? With the skin folds?

When she was a pup she had a few sore bits around the nose and ears but we just kept trying different foods and eventually found one which stopped it.

Both are ugly as sin but out of the two I'd choose american as it looks less retarded.

American one looks more like how a dog should look.
pretty big and powerful.
Stubby nose dog have been bred to look like that and it causes them breathing problems not really fair on the bred.
For that reason I personally would go for the American.

And it tends to be down to bad quality of breeding, not all british bulldogs suffer from these breathing problems.
And for me, british bulldog

American for me think british ones look like big pugs. I have an american bulldog she's about 5 now very good with people but really protective, no one will be breaking in (well not leaving anyway lol). Mine looks like a pitbull as some do but never had any probs with it.
