just asking as i had to do a music video when i was doing MS for my a-levels, ended up doing a greenday vid but was on-location in norfolk to shoot it. Kinda worked.

What editor are you lot having to use?

not really a music video, but a guy that i went to uni with - http://www.jonathanrich.net/site_2/joy.html - shot all with a DSLR, but similar effect could be replicated with a lot of AE/Editing work.

Don't understand how you can successfully produce a quality piece of work when you don't even know the tools you'll be using. I had 6months of using Premiere (chopping video, in/outs of time stretching, effects etc) and camera work (both outdoor and studio, luckily the school had it's on tv studio facilities) before i was let loose on making something.

If you want it to work, i'd be asking what software you'll be using (probably Premiere or Final Cut if using macs), get a copy and spend some time on it, neither editors are a piece of piss to use.
If you want to start doing effects then get yourself After Effects then get onto sites like AETuTs and Videocopilot and start doing some of the tutorials.
