It pitts the wheels. all it does is take the paint off, doesnt remove any marks on the wheels

its doing my head in rubbing back the wheels with sand paper, i have to get all the paint off too because where ever it is its reacting with the new paint.

It keys them up for primer as well does it not? If you didn't blast them you'd need to rub them down I'd think.

after sand blasting cant you use like a high build primer which the new paint will stick too

Took me an age to sand mine back. The top coating was chipped on mine so I had to sand it all off

yeah mine are killing me. i have to sand off al the old paint too because its reacting with the new primer and paint

yep but its not worth it on just whels too much rubbing down unless your powder coating them, find somewhere to dip them for you, quite a few companys come up in google under acid dipping

for got about acid dipping. wont leave pitts in the wheel either. whats the average price for acid dipping? cheers tom

plastic media is similar to walnut shells i believe, doesn't leave it pitted like sand/shot, but more expensive, last time i looked acid dipping then painting was £90 a wheel including tyre removal and refitting, so probably £30 a wheel but not totally sure

i thought shot blasting was what damages the wheels by leaving liitle dents in the wheels

why are you trying to sand them by hand ??? why dont you do what i normally do get some nitormours and paste it on wait till the paint bubled then get some brass brushes what fit a drill and jut blast it off with that took me 10mins a wheel to strip mine easy anough

Plastic Media Blasting is what you need, not many companies use it. Its what my mate uses at his blasting business and finish is almost perfect.

na dident for me the wire brass brushes they worked briliant iv used them on 2 sets of wheels now and both of them turned out great takes it right back to the alloy , just pour some nitromours in a cup and get a paint brush and just paste it on but plz use eye protection and gloves because this hit hurts if it goes in ya eyes lol i no iv done it lol

If using nitromors cover the wheels with bin bags as it keeps the vapours in and makes it work a lot better

sand blasting is quite aggressive but something like, glass or plastic beed blasting or aluminium oxide is really good and leavs a smooth finnish.

other than that take the tyres off and nito the buggers and take all the paint off
