This might have been asked alot and if it has soz.
I was just wondering what is better for subs out of sealed and ported boxes.
Also what are the advantages of each type of box.

Ported boxes need to be slightly larger and the port produces more 'boomy' bass ideal for rap sum drum and bass etc... sealed enclosures have a more defined beat (more punch) and r better for dance, rock etc....
Hope that helps!

ported boxes are also harder to build cos you need to get the tuned frequency correct. too low and itll sound shite, too high and itll sound shite.

Also not that it has been proved but subs in sealed boxes will last longer that a subs in ported boxes.

yeah that would be a good choice. I listen to that stuff too, Ive got a 13" ported, but I think i'm gonna change it maybe a 15", not to sure yet. I just like the long deep bass on rap tracks.

with a 15" ported, it needs to be ported really to make it move. But I might go for the 13" JL7. I like both 12 and 15" subs, so 13 is ideal for me, but I need to hear them to decide.

you need to look round for a good amp, to power to subs. you might be best looking at second hand stuff if you want to get quality gear. the best thing to do, is look around.
