i bought the wrong size offset and when I go over some speedbumps my wheels hit the arches. This lad told me today I can buy some like rubber bungs that I put UNDER the springs to stop this happening, £20 from halfords, is this right?
If so, how do you fit them UNDER the springs? cheers.

surely if you were to put something under the springs it would just make the car sit higher?
might as well just put standard shocks back on lol
yea, it's all about the correct offset

i think your mate means spring 'clamps' which reduce the rebound in the spring.
some people use them when towing caravans or tailors.
they're not exactly much good, but might solve your problem.
i would hazard a guess that your tyres are too bit and that's why it's rubbing - unless the wheels are literally 'sticking out' of the arches (i know this all too well) then your tyres are probably the issue.
40mm isn't exactly low, get new tyres and it'll look better i imagine

the wheels are JUST covered by the top of the arches but the tyres stick out by about half a cm.
