Is there a way to "safely" use this?


My old PC died a death from a virus related thing from it. But i need to download some stuff and this was quite easy to use....

limewire is pretty much the same thing, but better and more used i think. i dont use it anymore though.

I prefer Warez as you get replies in the thread.. At least its moderated in some way. Whereas with torrents i felt you could be downloading anything.

Using Kazaa/limewire/ares is asking for trouble, if you have problems hunting down a track then use Soulseek (use for hard to find music, never had problems with it so far unlike kazaa which is riddled with virus's). Otherwise use torrents, or pay for a Rapidshare/MegaUpload account etc.

used to use winmx and ares, never got viruses out of either, only one I did use that downloaded a virus was imesh

basically you need a torrent application i.e. bittorrent, utorrent is what I use... theres loads of them tbh.
Then you need to find the torrent file for what you want to download from a website like mininova, isohunt piratebay etc etc, then open the .torrent file you download off these websites in the bittorrent application. Then it will download the files you want. Pretty simple really. The only thing I will say is generally the higher the seed number on the file you want is usually better.

I though that Kazaa/limewire/ares etc were just front end's and all the files were the same as the're just shared from users :S
