Any idea as to the quality (its via broadband i guess, not the dish) I have sky downstairs, with 3 or 4 "packages" (well we get, all the discovery ones, music ones, skyone, dave, watch etc) no multiroom.

Skyplayer on the internet, not the xbox, now charges for most of the stuff you'd actually want to watch on the computer unless you've got Internet with them.
We've got the full HD pack and when I tried to watch a few things, namely sports, it wouldn't let me and wanted a subscription off me

Just heard on the radio it's gone tits up, half of the xbox features have been disabled, friends party and chat are still there though, apparently there was an unforseen technical problem..

this is where it fails big time. sky doesnt need your internet to be fast.
the good thing about play tv on ps3 is once you bought the box, you have recordable freeview. no extras. which fair enough if you have sky plus isnt a bonus, but if you dont, its perfect. this sky player sounds a loud of rubbish.

well technically it would be handy for me, I mean I could sign up to multiroom at my mums house sky, and watch from my own house when I get in. But I'd probably get sky or something when I move in anyhow.
I agree, though there is little point, If you have to pay the £10 multiroom anyhow, you may as well have another box.
Shame the download isn't working atm because I wouldn't mind giving it a go.

thing is, its only a limited number of channels isnt it? you only get certain live ones, that have to be internet buffered. fuck buffering the football on a sunday when i can do that on iraq goals for free, or just watch it in hd style quality on sky hd.
perhaps its aimed not at people that already have sky, and multiroom. perhaps its aimed at others. i dont understand it tbh.
