Your car will handle a lot better with the shocks, will be a very crashy ride on standard shocks

If you mean matching ones....they are reccommended. If you mean shocks at all, they are most definitely needed.
It is always best to get matching springs/shocks because they work together...mis-matching shocks and springs usually lead to am abrupt life-span of the shocks.

I disagree with that last comment. You can mix and match so long as you use the correct stuff. For example, you could fit Koni shocks with eibach springs no probs. When lowering you car though you really need to ensure that you fit uprated shocks as well as springs, you'll really notice the difference

well, for best results, use matching shocks and springs. For example you can't lower the car 60mm all round without changing the dampers because you'll most likely be replacing dampers every year. For a healthy suspension, change it all together and for best results, use a matching set is what I meant

Sorry, i know what you meant and thats what i disagree with. You will not necassarily get best results from a matching set. For example, on my Astra Bilstein shocks with Eibach springs works far better than a Gmax set.

well, gmax don't make the best suspension kits ever ;p just basic lowering kits if you ask me.
I know what you mean though, but SOME springs when used with other shocks will fux up your shit, yo!

I appreciate what your saying entirely but you only really have issues when messing about with cheap budget shite. The upper market stuff can all work well together but then it comes down to personnal choice
