Can someone explain how a club can announce record pre-tax profits of 33 million when they have in the last year spend 120 million on players which is WAY more than they would in a normal year.
How have they suddenly made all this 50/60/70m extra money?
Or is this the usual "we don't count the transfer costs because we have spread the payments over 100 years.

Apparently its down to the sales of Keane and Berbatov which are in this (something like £53m of it).
Actual revenue was down on the previous year.

surely even with 53m coming in, an extra 120m going out means you are still 70odd on players which I am sure is more than thier norm.

This was only up to July time 2008 or 09 wasnt it? So no doubt they have included the transfers in but not any of the big money spent.
Plus transfer money in is treated differently in the accounts compared to that out, so it will often boost the figures where in reality its not the case.

They have always been good with their money Spurs as Nismo said. They'll have some creative Jewish accounting on the go.
