yes loads of times back when i was an apprentice. we had a lot more machines then and most had underground pits that you could duck under and have a snooze. usually take some bubble wrap to make it more comfortable.

You could "nip out on lunch" and then suddenly breakdown miles away - quick snooze and then grub your hands up with a tad of oil and your on to a winner.

the solution here is power napping. duck out for a turd and sit with your eyes shut for as long as you can without people thinking you are bashing one out or you have the shits.

i once climbed into a drum warmer at work so i could jump out and scare the next person who opened it. the problem is it was 26 degrees and pretty cosy in there. when someone finally came over and opened it i'd been curled up asleep for almost an hour.

A couple of the old apprentices (1 year, and 2 year above me) set up a lil napping area under one of the old Gas turbines in the basement that are not used anymore. Was nice there, as it was all done out with bubble wrap and oil mats, and a big bit of card to pull over the opening. As it was dark down there (and people rarely visited it) you could stay down there for ages. Then one of the lads got caught down there and management destoried it. The lad that got caught then started sleeping in one of the vans and eventually got sacked haha

I have a power nap on me lunch break though

This is so relevant... I'm so tired today...
My eyes keep shutting and i have to force them open again.

I've not slept at work, since I was a paper boy I used to get to the downhill sections i knew quite well and shut my eyes and have a quick nap... Was always risky, as i could potentially hit a curb or something, but I usually found if I completely dropped off my hand would slip off a handle bar or a foot off the pedal which would wake me up enough to regain control.

Guy at work who recently got the sack, used to sleep at his desk all the time (during work hours)... he claimed at his old job his boss let him sleep in the boardroom when it wasn't in use. Here he'd just sleep at his desk for 3 hours +, then get woken up by a manager asking wtf he was doing.

Some days he'd go out for a cigarette break... disapear for an hour or so, then you'd see his facebook status change to 'snoozing on the grass, watching the clouds float by'

Needless to say, he doesn't work here anymore.

I used to work at a place called Klaussner Furniture, I worked in the department that bagged the sofas and loaded them on to trucks. At any one time we would have 50+ sofas stacked 2 high on racks waiting to be loaded, in complete darkness at the back of where we worked. Every dinner all the lads on our section would find a sofa each and go to sleep for an hour, some of the best naps ever were had on them sofas

When i used to be a labourer id sneak up into the roof of the build that was being done and have a little nap, the temp lights had dodgy wiring so if i got caught id just say i was up there sorting them out
