6k Are you being serious 6k straight out the window. Unless your getting £500,000 then your being a pleb for even considering it. I was told the same when i was getting insurance quotes for £2k

Such a mug, just save it for a few years, then get something worth getting or get rid of the corsa, get something better but not rediculous to insure and save a bit of the cash.

insurance on my 1.4 is around 2k so didnt think 6000 was to bad tbh. im not too good at saving money just feel the urge to spend anything i've got

neo cheers, you've kind of inspired me to not buy another car, i'll save it to get a house or something, might just spend a bit a money on tidying up one of the corsa's . seems like a bit of a boring thing to do though

So you drive an old 1.4 corsa and you are going to get a 350z?

There are three possible scenarios here:

a) you are dreaming.
b) you are a finance whore.
c) you have rich parents.

Its boring but you will appreciate it when you get older i can assure you !

And regarding your 1.4, shop around at insurance time, i'm sure you could get that down to 1.2k fc.

Spending more than a grand on insurance is just insane. Yes I know what it's like to be young, I was paying £1500 on my Corsa when I was 19 but damn, I wouldn't pay that now.

If he can afford the the car hes probely in the position to afford the insurance.

Paying 6k on a 12k car isnt as silly as paying 1k for a corsa worth 1k

As above, of course it's worse. Whether it's relative to the cost of the vehicle or not, it's still £6k and you would regret it n the future. No-one has got £6k to waste on insurance, especially someone considering buying a 350z

You say they will insure you for £6k, did you ring them or get an online qoute?

I did the same with my Gsi, even though they qouted me around £1500 at 19 with 2 years ncb, when i rang them they asked for previous driving experience which was a van at the time and a few companies turned me down due to lack of driving experience.

But going from being insured on a 1.4 Corsa to a 3.5 V6 350z, I would think twice about it, not just because of the price but the fact you could ring them up and chances are they will just turn you down even after getting a qoute.

was kind of put off rx-8's because of the rotary engine needing alot of looking after and need to be ragged to get the most out of them but just checked and its only 10k for the 227bhp car and insurance which cost the same as buying the 350z.

anyone have or had an rx-8 that knows what there actually like to live with?

don't really understand insurance prices because its almost the same to insure my 1.4 as my 1.6 which doesnt really make sense but at the end of the day its just another thing you have to pay that makes driving legal like road tax and if you think of it as doing something expensive to a corsa like a bigger engine and a decent spray job it doesn't seem that much considering its something you never really get your money back for but makes you happy at the time which is always good
