tbf, that article isn't about that, it's players who are awful, but somehow manage to get matches.
I was gonna suggest a few, but they were just plain awful players who only got 1 game, tis not about that tho

Blow me down Orrbo, I was actually thinking exactly the same thing but didn't think it worth mentioning.
I think it was either FIFA99 or FIFA98 before or after the World Cup when France won it, he was brilliant on those games.

they do some weird things on FIFA, there is a striker in Italy (think hes an Aussie) called Mark Brochhi (or somethign simialr)... in another version of FIFA (03, 04, sumamt like that) he was the best player int he game despite beign a bit part player at Parma at the time

For some bizarre reason, the makers of FIFA 1998 (or maybe 1999) decided to make him the best player in the game on the back of his scoring exploits at Auxurre.
I can't believe after all these years someone other than me remembers him on that game being awesome, I haven't mentioned it before, amazing
