How serious are you, id highly recommend olympic bars and weight plates over the smaller sizes.

think they do some 50kg plates with a barbell and dumbells for about £40. Id use those.. could get a decent workout with them.

assuming you mean 50kg worth of plates rather than 50kg plates? if not where is that from as looking for some more weights

If you think this may well end up being a long term thing then I personally would go for olympic weights. I bought all my own kit and was poorly advised ending up standard weights.

Getting to the point my 1 rm on some lifts is close to the capacity of the bar. I will then have either try sell up what I have or buy an olympic bar and weights for it and find room for both. If I had a garage that would be so bad however front room doesn't lend itself too well for too much kit.

I had a very good experince with powerhouse fitness.

Like Jaffa I also had a really good experience from Powerhouse Fitness. Great price on the weights I got and quick delivery.

to be honest am shocked how much weight plates have shot up over last couple of years. rule of thumb used to be £1 per kg

Yea, there a joke now! olympic is defo the way to go, tbh, 50kg isnt enough weight, i started deadlifting slightly less than that, and now do more than double it, in under 3 months, so id highly advise if your going to be doing it for the long haul (id not bother buying them if not) that you go down the olympic road.

Extra cash spent now will mean less spent in the long run imo.

They also sell aez curl bar, and a set of olympic dumbells, then ure fully kitted out. For less than a gym membership for a year, and u have it for life!
