not posted anything recently cos dont take many pics, but did on these few!
first off it started about 2 months back when i did few wheel refurbs, think it was 4 sets then i set myself a pretty unrealistic target of money to save b4 christmas! so that ment doing a few bigger jobs!
started with davs nova, he stripped most of the car down and someone had fitted rear arches, so i just gave it quick skim over here and there and gave it nice fresh coat of glacier white, few early pics
primer
and few final ones, stil no engine in etc, all the skirts, door handles went a homemade mixed gray antracite colour!
had it done in around 10 days!
then came the r5 turbo, had really bad paint job, runs everywhere and dents all over, again oli stripped most of the car then i picked it up
how i got it
started skimming
welded up wiper hole
more skimming
rear spoiler had 5+ coats of paint and was cracking so it all had to be rubbed off
back to bare rubber
quick tidy up round vents and smooth the pot rivets in
primed arch
rubbing down stone chipped bumper
lots of priming
in basecoat, volvo titanium gray, normal colour i use for wheels cos really good pearl content in the colour
small bits laquered
car masked up
primed
painted inside engine bay, part was covered in stone chip so it was not great
bonnet buffed
buffed car
all teh bits
no other pics off it all back together, took it back 10 days after picking it up
onto next car, not pics of when i got it! picked it up week last friday!
its a 106 used for road rallying, been into few gate posts and RSJ's etc! so needed good tidy up cos cars need to look fairly tidy to compete!
skimmed boot
bad dent, had to cover with filler and then re shape the line cos was hit in
sill was knocked in few inches, so filled with fibreglass and skimmed
this dent i had hit where door handle was and puched bak so i had to cut the 3/4 to loose some metal and then re weld it, then start skimming to get correct shape!
the car
getting smoother
sent and hole in roof skimmed
smoother
dents in bonnet removed
primer
shell maked up
primer
in basecoat kawazki green
laquered
some shots of the shell after paint
rear bumper had been painted few times, lol
plastics to be painted
parts all painted including 2 tone bumpers, black parts are ford panther black again cos of high pearl content
rested arches on, doors etc on
wheels off for quick tidy
shinneeeyyy once buffed
the car ready to go tomorrow
took deliver of 6 part work 888s for the van today
the vx220 looking cold, just taking it off the road for respray next
just painted part of slam panel tonight for the nova also
and re painted bumper on ren 5 cos got scratched
anyway, thats all for now, hope u like the pics!
:-)
comments welcome!

Just as a rough guide, how much is a respray like the nova for example? I'm not after anything done, I'm just curious as to how much you charge
work looks good though
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

You do this AND a full time job
I thought you were a full time sprayer, jesus, hard worker. And your prices are excellent, although it has to be said these guys have done a big job in removing the engines first, whats your price on a drive in, drive out?

well suprisingly enough the r5 turbo had blown its engine so having another fitted, and the nova is having a c20let fitted so both were out at the time!
depends on the car, its first time i have painted nova or r5! so thats y i try get owners to strip them cos i think they know more about stripping there car, give me a corsa and i would happly strip and put it back together! lol

Love the work and the choice of cars you work on.. The R5 looks amazing in that colour.. Pity the owner has a impreza scoop on the bonnet, and a bad one at that.. Seems warped Each to their own though..
Top work fella..
