I've been offered a bike and I want to check its not been nicked.. Its never been registered for the road so I only have a VIN number which means I can't do a normal HPI check..

Does anyone know if non registered vehicles can be HPI checked?

Cheers!

Suppose the only thing you could do is get the frame and engine number, then ask the police if it's ever been reported?, what bike is it?

I assume the DVLA must have access

I phoned up told them the chassis number and the age and they told me its flaged with police interest..

Basically it was offered to me out the back of a van! I wrote down the chassis number on my phone.. so I could check it out.. Seemed to good to be true
