awful in the wet. theyre ok in the dry. theyre nowhere near as good as an f1 imho. id compare a rainsport 2 to a t1r and favour the uniroyal tbh.

Gash in the wet and average at best in the dry. I'd avoid.

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

x2.

Only tyres I've had that were worse were Falkens. As Nic says Rainsports are better for the same money, F1's are brilliant.

Exactly how someone would describe them if they'd used them properly.

But aren't Eagles more expensive and don't last long?

I had Eagle F1 on my Coupe and after each journey you could see they were wearing down rapidly.

My eagle f1's lasted much longer than the T1r's which were too soft and pretty shit even when it was slightly damp. Also with such a soft tyre wall they were destroyed after a day at brands.

But you can't drive?

The T1R were brilliant at the GP Track and I absolutely hammered that car around there on the second session when toying with Will & Lee and Will was on the R888.

What someone classes as shit usually means they haven't really tested them just had a few 'moments' and blamed it on the tyres.

The sidewalls are soft, granted but not so bad that it affects the car that much and "destroyed" after 40 minute hard session.

Paul J runs Falkens of sorts and I never rated them when I had them on the Astra but it didn't seem to effect his ability to peddle the S2000 around Coombe.

for daily use, they arnt really a track tyre, never tried them on track, i found them poor, my car has eagle f1's on it when i bought it, they were great but needed replacing, didnt have them on for long so couldnt say how long they last, swapped to the t1-r, the car understeered in the wet and the dry, the tyres just didnt last, wasnt long before the toyo was worn off the side wall either. swapped them for a set of PE-2's ok they cost a bit more but lasted double the time the t1-r's did, so much more grip in both the wet and dry.

i wouldnt recommend the t1-r to anyone, but id rather pay more for tyres that last longer and grip better, im not one for pradas or t1-r's or other "performance" tyres.

massive PE2 fan.

Might be something to do with the higher performance of the car?

We are talking about a 125bhp Polo GTi on 15" wheels where I find them decent enough.

Had a few sets of T1-R Wear quickly and useless in the wet. I changed to Eagle F1's and never looked back.

clio 172 with 15's isnt exactly massive performance. wouldn't put them on the m5.

On my Zetec S at Brands I really rated the T1-R's but at Lydden I thought they were a bag of crap. But this is on a car with 100bhp anyone I know with any sort of power doesn't really rate them

they dont last very long either i have heard.

Eagles are brill but you pay for that i would look at uniroyal rainsports or pirrelli p nero zero's as they are both great tyres and slightly cheaper
