A friend has an Astra Diesel mk5 I think?.. Other SE members will be able to help as he ran it at our SE RR day. He has the 150bhp version one. Hes looking at a chip for it. Suggestions? I think Kano has the same car and bought the chip off ebay? And also, looking for a decent set of springs around a -40mm drop. All help appreciated. Cheers.

Think its just a tuning box that most owners go for.

DTUK seems to be the popular choice.

Im pretty sure(not 100%) that the company go under the name Diesel Tuning UK,hence the DTUK.
Google dtuk and it comes up some helpfull info.
Think the DTUK box is around £299.

After you posted I used google and found that site. Cheers fella. Reason I was double checking, is that I could of sworn Kano bought it off Ebay for half that price. I maybe wrong!

Its a DTUK box I have on mine. The difference is out of this world. I've had to take mine off just now because the cars away in for warranty work and it just feels gutless.

Google DTUK, do a search and it will come up with the website. I paid £220 for mine on ebay from DTUK and it was with me 2 days later.

Overall a very good bit of kit and really high quality. Takes 20 seconds to fit aswell.

As for springs I've got eibach prolines on mine and its supposed to be 30mm all round but it looks loads better..

Settled a bit at the front since I took these.

He will probably see this thread and reply when hes online.
I know you get the cheaper tuning boxes for the old Mk3 Golf Td's and i think they can be had for around £60 but dont know what they are like and if they do them for the Mk5 astra etc.

Increases of up to 40% in power and torque, and up to a 20% improvement in fuel economy are achievable as well as a reduction in CO2 emissions helping you to save money and reduce your carbon footprint.

for £270 ?
Seems pretty damn good apart from the "up to" part.
But I guess there is no choice for that.

I got mine from LMF for £130 but I've heard potn roadrunner are doing them for around £90 these days. Cant remember where I read that.

Btw its an ECO-3 box I've got, the CRD one is supposed to be a bit more brutal power curve from what I've seen. Mines nice and smooth all the way round to 4k+...

Plenty Astra have been rr'd at 190+ with the boxes on. You just have to drive one and the differenc eis hugely noticeable. You can turn the box down or up aswell so you can run it at lower power if you want.

Never tried Koni springs so cant comment, would reccomend eibach to anyone though, drives just as well as it did standard but a fair bit more composed when your pushing it. Always felt it was really twitchy when it was standard height.

I would go for the Eibach springs myself. Two choices the Proline -30mm drop all round or Sportline which are -50mm front -30mm rear. I've got alot of plans for my 3dr the Proline kit being one.

Edit- As for the DTUK boxes, 60%(IIRC) off Xmas deal from DTUK at the moment. Or if hes a AOC member you get a discount aswell.

I know the Koni shocks and springs packages are a good piece of kit. But just springs on their own I don't know. Where as Ive never heard a bad word about Eibach springs on their own.
