Guys looking for some help regards the above, im looking into getting a basic but good looking Ecommerce website done whats the going rate for this to be done?
I sent out a few emails lastnight before bed and had some crazy prices back today cheapest one been
£1,195 + VAT

I charge £500 for a basic static site, designed & deployed.

You should try an agency if you want silly prices. £1100 is nothing in comparison!

What back end are they using? Im guessing OS Commerce or something similar and then just making a skin for it?
Try posting the project on http://www.creloaded.com/crelance/ and get people to bid on it there, should get it lower. (CRE is basically a version of OS Commerce with some of the better addons already on).

it is quite cheap to be fair, I think my mums ecom site cost around the 2k mark to start off with.

Whats the quote include btw? Custom design? Payment module integration? Any custom bits making?
It isnt bad if its not just a standard skin on oscommerce. Were just getting an ecommerce site made thats got a lot of custom parts to it and is coming out at over £3k.

That's cheap...
If you haven't got the cash I would suggest just setting up an eBay shop - I think it's £15/month + listing and PayPal fees.
