same as above i dunno what engine to put in my 1.6 corsa sport ive been told that redtops are fast but aint very strong, and i push my cars canny far.
i was thinkin the x20xe would be stronger but am not sure, but ive been told that it wouldnt be much faster than the 1.6 that i have in already, what ever engine gets put in it will be running an F20 box if this helps??????

Who told you c20xes are not strong??
x20xe engine is pants in standard form.
people rate the x18xe1 engine but i would go for a 20xe.

If your looking to tune it just for maximum bhp you will spend less in the long run biting the bullet and buying a let.
but yes 20xej (early xe) is the one i would go for.

does not need to be mapped just use the ecu for the 2.0.
if your just looking for easy cheap ish power then just put a 20xe in.

tbh judging by the current number of xe1 conversions on this site being completely un-reliable, id rather just stick with a c20xe and have common problems than worry about the unknown with the inferior x18xe1 conversion. let alone stroker kit.

have bent enough mounts and cracked enough gearboxes not to take the risk myself.

it doesn't have as much bhp or torque. but the xe1 is a smallblock and therefore a lot lighter than the hefty redtop big block.

its not really lighter enough to compensate for it being much lower figures however. 30 kg isnt exactly a lot.
