Are there different versions? I bought some Eagle F1 GS-D3s for the front of my car which are lovely, then few weeks later ordered what i thought were the same tyre for the back but only after having them fitted have i noticed that they are just called goodyear eagle f1, no mention of GS-D3.

Basiclly they are utter shite, they look exactly the same as the fronts but even sticking my fingernail in the rubber its obvious they are a much harder compound. Are there different versions or have i got some dodgy chinese copys? I ordered them from camskill...

Hope so as I said can I order "four goodyear GSD3's" to the tyre place

They feel as good as my last set though and I didnt know they did differnt ones with the same tread pattern. I thought the other type of f1's looked completly different

Ok found out that GS-D3s are made in both Germany and China. The German ones are good and the Chinese ones are utter crap. Guess what ive ended up with ffs.

Owch pays to do your research, I've had a set of GSD2's and GSD 3's both were excellent, just a shame that due to the geometry the clio is running at the moment when they run down the edges dont make contact with the road on full lock

They are Goodyears but made in China instead of Germany. That's how I read it anyway.

Ive no doubt the tyres are up to spec, there just a completely different compound to the German GS-D3s. If you have a half decent grippy performance 'summer' tyre like the german ones or a khumo ku31 you can press your fingernail into the rubber due to the soft compound (Softer compounds wear faster but give more grip) but these chinese goodyears you cant, they are more like a hard long lasting fuel saver tyre.

Well goodyear have proved to be useless. Told me its down to the fact that im used to tyres that are worn out and its 'tread block flex' on the new tyres and i need to give them 500 miles to wear in. Not being funny but i will be well surprised if a bit of wear turns my super no grips into proper tyres!
