Similar to this IMO.
Give him a lifetime achievement award but I think others in the list did more this year

I'm in agreement that the guy is an absolute legend however there is no way on this earth he should have won SPOTY

100% agree - legend yes, SPOTY no. Once he retieres then something like the Lifetime Achievement award. In the last year how many times have you seen Giggs on the news? Not many. How many times have you seen him on TV shows etc..not many. Hes just not the SPOTY.

Can agree with this. Even I dont mind the guy (he isnt a dirty outspoken manc like that scummer Neville), but no way in hell should he of won the award this year.

She is 'cute'. Not so much in the above picture, but during certain bits from the show she looked good.
p.s. I'm just glad Miserable Murray didn't win it.

I am surprised it wasn't Button but no way should it of been Giggs. As already mentioned, he should definitely get a life time achievement award when he retires.

She looks ming there but look here:
Oh and giggs doesn't deserve to win sports personality, same as PFA award he got. He's been amazing in the PL blah blah but got these awards at the wrong time....

i was suprised to see he was in the running. i thought Button and Strauss were the most eligable to win. it's a bit of a joke as people have already said. he needs some recognition for his achievements but he no way deserved this award.

I think he deserves it personally, if Beckham and Owen have both won it then he is worthy of the same. He's won it on a year he won player of the year, broke the appearance record and still plays regularly for the champions of England at 36.

As a "personality" I can only think of Haye as a worthy contender as he certainly was a personality buidling up to his fight.
Giggs has achieved a lot and is having another good season. He hasn't been outspoken like Haye has.

Personally couldnt see past Button winning it tbh, Haye a close 2nd. Never saw Giggs even being in it.
He probably should of won it a previous year, but winning this now and his PFA award are both jokes tbh.

When Button was announced as runner up I had no idea who was going to win. I guessed at Strauss tbh.
