Hi,

Iv just put a 16XE in my car, which had a 14XE in it, i havent changer the ECU's yet, as i didnt know how to get the responder off around the key baral thing, so i could pair it up with the chips and what have you..

My mate who works at vauxhall, seems to think there wont be a whole load of difference in the 14XE and the 16XE ECU's?? So there isnt much point in changing it?

Is this right?

Would it just be better to change it anyways??

Cheers in advance!

the 1.6 will run with the 1.4 ecu, big difference though in how it runs.

Mine held back badly, felt a lot slower and was unsmooth to drive due to a massive flat spot near the top end of the rev range.

The duty cycle on the injectors and possibly timing etc. will be different..

You will eventually kill your engine.
