My polished 19's are starting to look scabby as hell, front 2 look like they have been relaquered before & its starting to peel off & corrode. I want them refurbed however ive no spares to put on..........& a proper refurb on them is pretty expensive, probably around a ton a wheel.

Options?

I'll probably be keeping the car another year........Ive decided for now at least.

I could get some shit alloys for shit weather use & have the double spokes refurbed in time for summer? Usually dont agree with 'winter wheels' but polished finish is really a nightmare so i'd make an exception. Can get brand new CSL rep's for a few hundred quid.

Get them stick them on.....maybe have a go at refurbing mine myself? There is no kerb damage, only corrosion.

Genuine CSL's are too dear, talking £1500 for an 'as new' pair.

Or.............something else?

Or I could just take my car off the road for a wee while in Feb when the ins runs out, stick it on axle stands in the garage & send my wheels off to Lepsons or similar for the full works?

Possibly, although when the weather turns a bit muslim I dont hoon the car around as much no that I do anyway

Very cheap though, I just think they look nasty.

Looking at refurbs from a local place now £475 for diamond cut finish.

Might just plump for that & hope they see me through another winter & dont fuck up before I flog the car.

CSL's look good, flog your ones and get proper ones

Also, if you do get your wheels refurbed, bear Tom in mind! He has a good contact for diamond cut wheels!

dont be gay, you will sell it in the new year once you have settled in new house

Get them refurbed when you got to sell it

no point doing it just now for them to be ruined by winter roads, salt and pot holes and no point buying some cheap replicas that is just throwing money away

im thinking about winter wheels as my rears dont have any more cuts in them for diamond cut, when they go again ill get them painted antracite and buy a second hand set with no tyres and just swap them over,
as rich said i have a good guy for diamond cut, but as we are the other end of the country i dont think its worth it, £290 for a set of four though

Just leave them on and get them refurbed when the bad weather is over.

Or

Leave them on and buy some original CSL's next year
