In the last month?
Ive just looked through my statement (always pay on card at petrol station) and petrol accounts for 25% of my wage in the last month....
1/4 of my wages gets burnt.
I live 32 miles away from where i work.

Another one paid for by the ridiculous tax I have been paying for the past 10 years.

Ollie the loans from from a student loan company which are paid back not from the government.
I'd be more worried paying tax for benefit frauds claiming bogus disabililty benefit not students who end up paying for it for the next 30 odd years

Technically speaking no. I could get a job that pays £14,999 or less for 15 years after I graduate, which is when the loan expires.
I put £20 a week in getting to Uni and work.

Actually it's 25, my mistake.
I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think earning £14,999 for 25 years in order to get out of a £21,000 loan isn't the best financial option.

I think the main point is that eventually "your tax money" will be paid back, unlike the money being given to the useless bastards that never get a job and claim benefits.

If it makes you feel better Ollie for however long they are earning under the pay back threshold which is 15k PA they are still incurring interest which increases each year. So when they do eventually get into a decent job they will be paying it off for ages!
I was paying lump sums of 300-500 from time to time to clear mine as its redicuous how much it escalates to This is surplus to my monthly contribution through my wages.

IIRC you have to pay a minimum of 9% of your wages that are over £15,000, which isn't a lot. But ad you mentioned, the less you pay the more you pay - eventually.
The loan I took out has a 0% interest rate, this year.
Anyway, a massive 40% of said loan goes to fuel!
