just bought a corsa 1.4 sport
ran fine till i woke up this morning and noticed when i turned her over just made a nice grinding sound.popped bonnet noticed all teeth off belt,,,
water froze throught the water system
just advice youse antifreeze lol

mix it? drain coolant, fire couple litres anti freeze in top rest up with water, start engine and let the water pump mix it for you.

ok, will do that then, just on the back it says loads of bullshit like mix 2/3 water and 1/3 anti freeze or something like that. bit of a pisstake lol

Yes, I paid the price for no anti freeze in the way of 16 bent valves, about a dozen cracked valve guides and a burst core plug at the back of the head. Not fun times.

my jettta froze. pump is on the aux belt.

blow torch'd the pump then ran engine till hot.

then dropped half coolent and stuffed in 2 litres of halfords finest.

the more door wasnt so lucky. if having a stuffed h-g wasnt enuff, it froze and sheard the impeller of the pump. so. thatll get done.

My waterpump was froze solid friday morning, didnt realise, went to start it and bottom cog spun without moving, engine smoked anyway so not too bothered.

antifreeze and water is 50/50 not 1/3 2/3 or anything like that. 50/50.

thats a thing, i didnt check my fabia to see if there was any antifreeze, havnt had it long, anyway the weather here is like -1 and lower, havnt drove it for a few days, should i just leave it till it warms up a bit just to be on the safe side.

Thank god for this thread. Havent used the vitara in about 2 weeks. It burst its water pipe and we were 70 miles from home so just filled it back with water
