Wouldn't call it a family car really. Get the CDTI150 and get a tuning box on it. 200bhp and mountains of torque.

im 20 and i have a black astra 5dr sri xp and no one has said anything about it being a family car. you may also find the 5dr is cheaper to buy second hand rather than a 3dr.

yea maybe so, but when i saw my astra at the garage for sale, there was another astra next to it, both were 1.7cdti, both had done the same miles pretty much (give or take a couple of hundred miles), both same year of reg, although the one i brought was a 5dr sri xp, the other astra was just a sri but was £1000 more than my astra.

I've had a 5 door and now have a 3 door SRI CDTI 150 with XP. There are a lot more of the 5 doors around and they tend to go for less than the equivalent 3 door.

I love mine. Plan is a DTUK box in the new year and maybe some BK999's. The box is first though.

5dr Hatch/Estate SRi XP looks much better than the 3dr Sporthatch XP

Sporthatch looks best in the VXR guise.

IMO.

I think the SRi XP Estate is the best looking of the Non-VXRs... Controversially.

You see I disagree with you on the 5 doors looking better than the 3 doors. The 5 door is a great looking car I just think the 3 door looks that little bit more sportier/aggressive. I think the alloys on that last one are BK999's in 18''/19''s. Basically VXR replicas. I want.

Used to like the 3 doors more, but now think the 5 doors look better too. Can't see bugger all out the back of either when reversing anyway

The 3 door rear visibility is a lot worse than the 5 door
