Need like a hotel or something to stay in that will fit 5-7 people in like 2 rooms.. so like 4 on one room... 3 in the other

you looked at travel lodeges or prem. inns? like said though, city centre isn't really that cheap it's better to stay outside and taxi/train it in.

mrs stayed at the etap in birmingham a few weeks back, cheap as chips but you get what you pay for, no luxurys but at least its clean and warm

F1 is close enough to town that you can go there for shopping to Liverpool 1 and also end up there after a night out Wood Street / Slater Street / Concert Square. Although I wouldn't stay there - they're like jails.
Ibis next door or any of the ones along Chaloner Street would also do the job.
Alternatively there's a Travelodge at the end of Dale Street which is handy for Mathew St / Victoria Street end of town.
Need to know more about what you're doing there and where you need to be close to. You're not short of choice.
