Been looking around for a quickshift or a shortshift for my 1.6 sport?
I've seen LMF do a short throw kit with nylon bushes...anyone had any experience with this?
Or what do you guys use/recomend? also i want to keep the standard gear stick...

i had a rally design one
never again , horrible forced gear change
i prefer the longer throw, smoother and wants to go into gear, short shift feels more forced
i just replaced all the bushes in my standard one, and was sweet
my gear changes are very quick anyway

a lot of the slop is the dead bushes. nylon ones give it a much more positive feel. i can change gear pretty fast but id say it suits me more with the qick shift. just a shame the side to side movement doesnt alter aswell.

x18xe1 is good
but z18xe is better
im sum up the 1.8 if you want, and why ib got it
for a start its small block (forget about weight)
so bolts straight in on standard mounts/gearbox/shafts etc, no need to change anything
i already had all my tuning bits off the 1.6 i had, inc lightened flywheel, gearbox with quaiffe diff,
camshafts are interchangable/rollers/ exhasut manifold can even be made to fit
standard there 123bhp/125lbft
my C with just airbox mods made 131bhp/133lbft (z18xe not x18xe1)
redtops are old, and tired engines now days, yes its good cheap power, infact great for the money
but it wasnt for me, im not for straight line speed, else i would have a turbo like you!
with the same mods to a 1.6, inlet, cams, exhasut/ remap the corsa C's see 165-70bhp thats over 20-30bhp more than a 1.6 makes, and with alot more torque too
my 1.8 runs like a bag of shite tbh, i dunno why, but with the new engine build should see 190-200bhp with 145lbft
still maybe 20bhp/20lbft down on a redtop with same mods, but im its 200cc more.
