had an email from service@hmrc.gov.uk saying i am entitled to £x amount after calcul;ation of my fiscal activity.....it then gives me a link to a sit which does look real HM revenues where i have to give my card details and mothers maiden name (thats what makes me think its BS)
anyone had one of those?
what do u reckon?

A couple of our clients have received emails from HMRC and they don't look legit but in some cases they are. But more times that not they are a scam.

Best thing to do is to ring your local office and ask them if it is legit. From the info you have given I would say it is a scam in this cases.

When you've clicked the link, check what it says in the address bar as that is usually a give away.
