£42.50 for head skim is quite a lot, £25 at a couple of places round here, I would still be happy though.
What engine? if thats a sport thats an excellent price,
Edit:
Im getting cambelt kit, head gasket, head skim, new valves and stem seals for £350.
(My choice to pay it, CBA to do it myself).

Considering most places charge £40-£50 per hour labour I'd be happy with that

My XE got 16 new valve guides, 16 new valves, 16 new stem seals, new head gasket set and head steam cleaned for just over £100. Funds were tight so I went for ebay jobbie stuff but I mic-ed the stuff up and it was spot on with the vauxhall stuff.
It's good doing it too because of what you learn. I've always done the maintenance on my own cars but before that had only stripped the head off a 1.6 8v astra. After doing the corsa the amount I've learnt has doubled, but I've got the scars and stress lines to prove it
