Right, name me some good PC games which can br played over LAN.

Not interested in the newer games like COD4 etc (as they wont play on our computers in the office )

We've got Red Alert (the first one), but it looks like it wont support LAN (only old skool cool 56k modem play)

Fire away (no pun intended)

All awesome, low demand LAN games - hours of fun between me and my brother when we lived at home.

Shooters are crap, unless on co-op mode because two people rattling round a map built for 32 is kinda crap.

RTS is where it's at for small scale LAN'ing

Me and my mate got really into Red Alert not so long ago. Top game. Still works over LAN and internet too. Had issues with Red Alert 2 finding other player.

My mates dad used to work for compaq iirc so the whole house was networked

we used to play allsorts..

Netstorm
Diablo 2
Freelancer
Aliens Vs Predator
Final Doom
Duke Nukem
Half Life
All the C&C's (Tiberium sun is the most epic!)
The Moon Project
Battlefield 1942

theres probably so many others we used to play too.. Not to mention we had some cool gadgets to play with when we were growing up.. his older brothers were geeks too and at uni/work

We had projectors and 3d glasses and all sorts

Am i right in saying C&C Red Alert (the first one) can't be played on LAN? When i look in the multi-player options...it only allows for modems

im pretty sure we used to play it lan.. being older it might even have a seperate lan launcher
