Me mum has a loud clunk when on full lock in either direction in her 206 CC. Me and me dad both suspected the CV joint was at fault. Took it to our local mechanic. He said both inner and outer CV's are fine.
Although he has now said that because it has larger than standard sized wheels. 17" pug wheels not 16" pug wheels, that is the cause. He then said that many "boy racers" have this problem. TBH ive never heard of this before.

I hope you are not going back to that mechanic?
I have a clunk on speed bumps and was told it was because of larger wheels catching on inner arches when infact one pin was missing from brake pads.
