Covent Garden - Punch & Judy, Roadhouse
Leicester Square - Waxy O'Connor's and Little Waxy (brilliant pubs)
Mayfair - Mahiki (bit of a celeb spot, so it's pretty expensive)

Thanks for replies guys!

Staying in Covent Garden so ideally places around there but if you can recommend me places I can reach by tube / £15 in a taxi that would be good too!

Regarding cost, no more than £100 for meal for 2 thanks! Probs quite tough in London?

Cheers

Wahaca in Covent Garden is nice. It's Mexican street food. Upstairs in the Marquis of Angelsey is nice too - it's like a gastro pub.

Covent Garden you say...

i dont go eating/drinking round there much but the places i have found to be nice are

Drinks:
Belushi's Bar
The Lowlander (more beer than you can shake a stick at)
Road House (cocktails in there are pretty good, especially on happy hour)
Walkabout
Bok Bar

A short walk into Leicester Sq area and you have a load more places too..
Try the Verve.. its a bit cheesy but its got an underground clubby bit thats good for a dance

Food:
Belgos ( http://www.belgo-restaurants.co.uk/ )
Navajo Jo's ( http://www.navajojoe.co.uk/navajo-joe.htm )
Asia De Cuba ( http://www.stmartinslane.com/default.aspx#/explore/?id=asiadecuba )

Plus there are a load of the usual Pasta Browns, Zizzi, Ask, Pizza Express type places round there, depends what sort of thing your into
