Just priced the parts from chris astley site, it came to 1200 more or less, so by the time i source an engine and auxillaries ect plus a rebuild the conversion will cost about 2.5, 3.0 k fitted.
And it would take me about 2 years to complete it.

So is it worth doing the xe conversion?????
Or should i just stick to my 14 and tune that as i go?

thanks

2.5-3000k to put an xe into a corsa!!
You can do it for well under a grand and have it fitted in 2days.
I know iv done it a few times just dont buy every single thing brand new.

I think you have to really want one to go a head with it mate.. I wouldn't spend that much on a novelty. If your not keeping the car then you can do alot cheaper if you just want a fun car for abit

brand new pistons and crank and block are going to be very expensive to buy.

Buy my shell with XE engine still fitted. All the bits you need to put into yours including full exhaust, new gear linkage and many many rebuild parts in the last year... too much infact!

The guy I bought mine from bought MTECH everything from LMF and that cost just over 1k.

Type-2 Conversion kit
Strengthening plates
Cool running thermostat
Cool Running fan switch
Gearshift Shorteners
Power Steering Bracket
Cooling Hose Set

I expect parts from Chris Astley to be cheaper though.

If need rebuilt parts 4 engne drop me a u2u, il can supply gaskets, bearings, belts, pumps- pistons etc, mounts are about 90, get sum hubs and equal shafts, do it all with a rebuild for 1200 or so.

As for the comment of dont strip it ul have problems, thats a ton of shite, build it properly and it wil last. All you know u cud buy an engine with cracked rings or fucked bearing!
