Hello,
My phone gave up the ghost yesterday and I need a new one. I'm with O2 on a sim only rolling monthly contract.
Basically all I need is a really cheap phone that can call and txt, nothing else is needed. I've been to a few phone shops in town today and they all say a phone has to leave the shop with credit The credit is of no use to me.
Does anyone know anywhere, apart from ebay, that you can just buy a phone?
Cheers

Tesco are selling a 14.99 phone as a "phone for going out with" to save you losing or damaging your posh expenisve phone. They were on the stands opposite the checkout in my store.

Thanks for having a look, I need it to work for O2 though. As far as I can tell that will only do T-Mobile

Tim, I bought an absolute turd phone from carphonewarehouse. Just ask them for the shittest no frills phone. They'll bring one out for you
Be prepared though... no frills, really means no frills. It was like a toy from the market

You can't. Even though it's O2's network they use, a Tesco phone can only be used on Tesco as they have different network codes.

I will go in and ask them what wonder they can find out the back for me. No frills is no problem, as long as it isn't a brick.

I would have thought the obvious choice would be to look on the O2 website.
£15 - Samsung E2100
£20 - Samsung E2120
£25 - Nokia 1680
£30 - Nokia 2330 Classic

Funnily enough I tried there first
They don't let you buy the phone for that price, have a look by adding it to your basket. I also rang them up to try and sort it and got nowhere.

I just tried it as you said:
The checkout button asked me for address details etc., no other extras to add on there.
