I need a new phone, and think i'll jump on the bandwagon and get either of the above. I can get a 8250 Curve for £20 a month with unlimited internet etc. iPhone would be bought on PAYG and i'll unlock/jailbreak and use my current sim contract.
Anyone had both of them and think 1 is better than the other?
Thanks.

iPhone, I like the layout of my blackberry, but get fucked off with the trouble i've had with it.
Wish iPhone made a phone with buttons, and not a touch screen.

I've just got my iphone today and its brilliant.
Guy at work has both and says if he had to pick one it would be an iphone.
I had the choice between them and i know i would of kicked myself if i didn't go with the iphone.

I'm sure it's possible. But if you have one of those 3 above sims you won't need to jailbreak it to get it to work? My sim from my old phone went straight into my iphone.
Taken from the thread further down the page - Jailbreaking, the point is being able to do stuff with it that apple dont let you, like theme's and rejected app store apps.
As for it being easy, it can't be that difficult but i'm sure doing that, will void warranty/insurance? And the amount the thing costs isn't worth it imo.

Wont void the warranty because its software, if anything ever happens you can just reset it and they would never know, its piss easy to do just 1 click, search for blackra1n (there might be a newer solution now though.

I have a Blackberry Curve and an iPhone 3GS. I haven't used the BB to its full extent because it's a work but phone but IMO the iPhone wins by a mile.

I was in the same kind of dilemma but I've gone for the iPhone I get mine Tuesday I can't wait. Blackberry seems more businessman like and iPhone is a phone and handy tool rolled into one. So many handy apps available now!

Pay for what you get, and you pay more for the iPhone but I think it's a much better product

Jambo nailed it on with the blackberry being an 'email' phone and iphone 'media' even the the iphone does deal with emails pretty well imo.
Don't compromise and get a 5800, it's not in the same league as the iphone. You can't compare the two to one another.

Does the iPhone have a speaker on it, as I need to be able to play music at work without using headphones?

only thing is, brand new iphone 3gs' are all tethered, meaning, if you turn it off, you need to be at a computer, to run blackra1n to turn it back on

I'm on a bb curve as we speak. Bit of an impulse buy. 400 mins unlimited txt and net for
25 a month made me go for it though over iphone, and tbh I think that is the only reason
