This may sound like a shite question, but we all read this site as it is something that we enjoy.

But do any of you on here have a regular book reading session?

I have never really liked reading, but i read a book a few years back, while living in Canada, that made me cry.

i am looking for new book but i have a very small wave length that i can handle.

Must be something including either, Cars/ Mechanics or something of the sort, Military. thats about it really as i am quite fussy.

I asked here before i started searching as i know there WILL be somene with the same thoughts as me.

The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich.

I'm about to start Mein Kampf but I've heard mixed reviews so I'll let you know about that one!

I do occasionally read mate and to be honest the best books ive read in a long time are Jeremy Clarksons! Theres like 8 in the series - 4 are about different cars (car a chapter and how he road tests them and what they are like and compares them to life situations etc) and the rest are his column extracts. Each column extract and car review is only a couple of pages long so its not massive reading but they are funny and quite interesting. Another book i like is Perverting the course of justice by Inspector Gadget. Its an unamed police officer giving a funny first hand view of policing with all their strange rules and paper filing. Ross Kemp in Afghanistan is also one of the best books ive read in a long while. It gives a really powerful view of what life is like as a solider and how it affects their lives. Im not really a fan of fiction books so thats why i read things like this. Hope it helps mate

Try the Andy McNab fiction series. I've read them all so far, and although fiction, you can tell that he knows what he is talking about from experience, not research. The trade-craft he reveals is amazing.

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

I mainly read autobiographies of people I admire or entertainers I like to watch/listen to, I'm not too bothered about fictional stories or anything, I also like to read books on criminals and anything else I find interesting (medicine, places of the world, prehistoric life).

If people are into their war/military books then i advise reading '3 Para' best book iv read in a long time, its followed up by a book called 'Ground Truth' but i found that to be a little too on the political side of things.

yeh mate 'Friends like these' i thought was the best. I reckon if you watch the film before reading the book its not bad.
