£500 - £600 to spend and has to have HDMI, around 4GB RAM, 250GB Hard Drive, Dual Core and 15" screen

I've just bought a sony vaio, 4Gb RAM, 320GB HD, Dual Core, 15 inch, webcam.... It's a lovely laptop. Was in the sale from £700 to £500 in PC World / Currys.

It doesn't have HDMI though, the one up from it does for £620.

What would the HDMI be used for? Downloading Blu Ray's and putting them through your TV?
