Watched that rather annoying road tax advert today.

It shows Chitty Chitty Bang Bang being clamped for not having a valid road tax

but doesnt it class as a Classic/Vintage automobile and therefore doesnt require road tax????

I know what they are trying to say, whether you drive or fly away, they cant dodge the fine.....think they used an unapproriate format.

If its more than 20 years old then i dont think you need tax. That car was probably on a Q plate though

yeah, you still go to the post office as normal, with all your documents and get tax... just don't hand over any cash.

Your car must be registered as 'vintage' with the DVLA though first, which doesn't happen automatically
